The word was disappointment-
The one that filled her world;
As she lay there silently,
Solemn, struck and curled.
Reflecting in darkness,
She felt alone and lost-
Like on a sandy path:
One she’d never crossed.
Misguided and misled,
Deceiving she was thought of
By those who meant everything-
The only ones she ever loved.
Left alone for punishment,
One she never deserved.
She accepted it though,
As taught to be reserved.
Pushed aside and disregarded;
It was as if she was worthless.
Her body was invisible;
Her feelings were hopeless.
What was she to do?
Not one word was heard.
Everything she did
Was considered absurd.
How do you find yourself
When you’re so lost out there:
When you’re blank and baffled,
Stripped naked; completely bare.
